Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

  • JAM & JAM ON FRIDAY. (elementary)

    JAM

During the school year (September – May), elementary school aged children are invited to JAM (Jesus And Me) during Sunday morning worship. Kids begin worship upstairs with family, are invited forward for a Children’s Message, and then are invited to go downstairs for JAM, where they learn about the same lessons the adults are hearing upstairs, but crafted for their own age and need for movement and play.

    JAM ON FRIDAY

JAM on Friday is a once a month (usually the first Friday of the month) youth group event for littles (elementary age). Kids are welcome to bring all their friends for food and fun and friendship at church.

  • CONFIRMATION & YOUTH GROUP. (middle and high school)

    CONFIRMATION

We at Emmanuel Lutheran are excited to welcome you all as you join together with your fellow SIXTH, SEVENTH, and EIGHTH, grade friends to go deeper in your faith, learn about God and God’s people, and discover more about yourself and your God. Confirmation classes are held on Sundays from 5:00PM to 7:00PM from October through May. We gather for dinner and conversation at 5:00PM and then move into class time. This is a three-year program, during which we learn about the major stories and people of the Bible, and begin to explore the big questions of our faith together.

    YOUTH GROUP

Youth group is for SIXTH THROUGH TWELFTH grade students. Youth Group meets the first Sunday of each month at the usual Confirmation time (5:00PM to 7:00PM). We eat dinner together, play games, and talk about broader life topics. This is a great time to invite your friends!

    SUNDAY MORNING ADULT FORUM

(Most) Sundays at 10:45AM. We have a talented crew of teachers who lead these weekly studies/discussions. Recent topics have included: “Poetry & Prayer,” “Miracle Stories in Mark and the Healing of the Body Politic,” and “How Does a Weary World Rejoice?”. We look forward to future sessions on Liturgy, Hymnody, and whatever else their brilliant minds think up.

    THEOLOGY ON TAP

Theology on Tap is a monthly gathering of curious minds from Emmanuel and the broader community who come together to explore faith related topics. Recent topics have included the Ethics and Theology of Eating, Tribalism, Technology and Religion, Beauty and the Glory of God, and explorations of current global events like Israel-Hamas, Ukraine-Russia, and elections here at home. Meetings are typically held at a local coffee shop.

    WOMEN’S CIRCLE

Our Women’s Circle meets once a month September – May for fellowship and Bible study. Meetings are hosted in member’s homes and include a potluck meal. The Bible study comes from the ELCA Gather Magazine and members take turns leading these studies.

    BOOK CLUB

A wonderful monthly book club was born out of the dark pandemic days as Emmanuelites sought after distanced connections. The book club has moved from the digital space and into the physical, where we can share in treats and even the occasional glass of wine. The Emmanuel Book Club reads a wide range of genres and topics. Recent book selections have included: Solito by Javier Samora, A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers, Raising Kids Beyond the Binary by Jamie Bruesehoff, The Making of Biblical Womanhood by Beth Allison Barr, and Wild and Distant Seas by Emmanuel’s very own Tara Karr Roberts.
